I travel to China frequently. I first visited in 1987, then had longer stays in 1989/1990 and 1992/1993, and then started traveling there frequently starting in 1999. Obviously it has changed a lot. Unfortunately I didn't take my pictures on my earlier visits. I've been trying to make up for lost time by taking lots of pictures recently.

I am usually busy with work during the day, but at night I often have the opportunity to get out and take pictures. I prefer taking pictures at night, anyway. I really enjoy walking around neighborhoods and talking to people and taking pictures. Fortunately, I speak Chinese. Everywhere I go, people are very friendly, interested, and helpful.

When I am in China, I spend most of my time in Beijing, but I have also visited Shanghai, Taiwan, and some of the typical tourist places like Guilin, Xian and the Three Gorges. In 2009 I started visiting Hong Kong, and will probably be visiting there regularly from now on, so look forward to more pictures from that interesting place.
