I admit I am not the world's greatest photographer of people. I'm not much of a photojournalist. When I have people in my pictures, I like them to be unrecognizable, whether because they are silhouetted, in shadow, turned away, or too small. I like my people to be anonymous figures moving against a grim, imposing, and antiseptic background, suggesting alienation, loneliness and despair. I'm not sure why I like that so much, since I have a sunny and optimistic disposition, but anyway...
